History of our Church
Mt. Carmel Church has deep roots in the York Township community, beginning with home worship gatherings in the 1850s. The first Mount Carmel church building was constructed in 1863 on land donated by Enoch Jones. Since then, we’ve grown through generations of faithful families, building additions, and community service.
Over the decades, we've expanded our facilities, established youth and women’s ministries, and launched projects like Bible classes, music programs, and mission outreach. In 1968, we joined the United Methodist Church following a denomination merger. In 2000, we completed a modern Fellowship Hall—now a hub for events, worship, and outreach. In 2023 we transitioned to the Global Methodist Church.
We are proud of our heritage, and we remain a close-knit, country-hearted congregation that loves God and serves others. All we have and all we’ve built is by His grace!

Pastor Steve Engle
Welcome to Mt Carmel Church! As a pastor here, I cherish the opportunity to share my story and vision for our congregation. I invite you to join us as we journey together in faith and fellowship, sharing our insights and supporting one another in love and grace.
